Upper left: Inscription on the original Tablet. Lower left: The remnant split stones from which the Monument was cut. (Note the drill holes along the edges caused by the round pointed chisel driven into the rock with a mallet.) Tools known as pin and feathers were then wedged into the holes and struck evenly until the stone split. The monument was probably rolled on logs to its current location and then stood in place.
